NEWS FLASH! – AN INTERESTING FOLLOW-UP TO A PREVIOUS ENCOURAGEMENT
Some of you may remember that, back in February 2012, I wrote an account on this website of a remarkable development – both practically and spiritually – that took place on one of the islands in the Pacific. The whole thing had been triggered-off by simple “Cross-my-Path Care” on the part of a Christian family in New Zealand who, like many of my readers, serve the Lord outside the “Organised Church”. I explained that UNICEF had eventually become interested in the practical side of what had happened – the installation of a proper water supply for several villages – and had paid for the good work to be extended more widely over the island.
A few weeks ago, the NZ family alerted me to the fact that a full report of the development (from UNICEF’s point-of-view), and some photographs, had appeared on the official UNICEF blog for New Zealand, and they gave me the necessary link: http://blog.unicef.org.nz/2013/02/22/water-an-easy-solution-for-a-big-problem/. I think that having a look at it is very worthwhile. (You have to scroll down to the particular article written on 22nd February 2013.) It was an encouragement to me that the outside world sits up and takes note when something real happens – even when the source is undeniably Christian (which, sadly, is so often viewed with suspicion nowadays.)
Of course, there is no specific mention of anything Christian in the UNICEF blog, but the folks in New Zealand said to me, in an e-mail: “When the team (of UNICEF observers) went to see OUR little village (where it all started) the village put on a welcoming dance and song for them as part of their custom. They made their own song in English, which said: “Welcome to our Christian family. We are glad you have come to share your lives with us.” In all their speeches they gave thanks to their New Zealand Christian family. The UNICEF team all sat and listened, and loved it all…….
All in all, there was no secret about the fact that Jesus had been behind the whole development!
